Elections in India is the biggest democratic exercise across the globe. In 2024,there are about 980 million eligible voters in which 650 million people cast there votes. Results came on 4 june in which BJP (shockingly) falls shorts of majority(240seats) but along with its alliance (NDA) it has won 294 seats which is above the majority marks(272 seats). But the surprise element came from UP where INDIA Alliance swept the election winning 43 seats out of 80 . Samajwadi Party got the maximum 37 seats here. This is main reason why BJP could not make up the majority in Lok Sabha.
Q: How could BJP lose Ayodhya?
A: Ram Temple has always been the centre of Politics since 1980s of the hindi heartland. Since BJP has promised its voters that the we will construct the Ram Mandir . After Supreme court decision in the favour Ram Temple, BJP fulfilled the promise. This years ,on Jan 22 construction has completed and inaugurated by PM Modi. Ayodhya also gets several infrastructural projects like New International Airport , New railway stations and roads & connectivity. but people of Ayodhya seems to be unhappy with BJP. There are factors like unemployment, pricerise, and statements of changing the constitutional framework of this country which has backfired .

Q:What are the biggest factors of SP big win in UP?
Ans: SP starts with its compaign with the slogan of PDA(Pichhda, Dalit and AlpSakhyak). They wanted to unite all (so-called) backward castes votes together along with muslim votes with has sizeable numbers in UP. Their Slogan of caste census resonated with their voters. Alliance with congress helps them to reach its voters unites the comman votes. Along with Congress, SP called for “Save Constitution” which is liked by millions of SC and ST voters. BSP decline also favored the INDIA Alliance in UP . and if INDIA Alliance could manage BSP,They will get atleast 10 seats more.
Q: Purvanchal completely gone with INDIA Alliance, How is that possible?
A: There are various factors to it. Purvanchal has deep divisions of caste specially sc and obc and has deep history about OBC reservations since 1990s. OBC castes prefer SP . Though BJP tries to unite all caste against and put religion as its core ideology but anti - Incumbancy , unemployment ,Media, Caste Census issue are more vibrant than Ram Mandir or Hindu - Muslim Issue.
Q: If INDIA Alliance could form a goverment, Could Akhilesh be the PM ?
A: I don’t think so, there is a very narrow chance that INDIA Alliance could form goverment but Akhilesh could demand the PM post as his father demanded in 2004 election which RJD declined. I don’t think Akhilesh could go for PM post. But this is seems for the revival of SP in UP. Having lost two consecutive Lok Sabha elections and UP elections , SP needed a boost . This time SP succeeded . They would want carry this momentum to upcoming UP state elections in 2027.

CS: How would this election transform national politics and Up state politics?
RG: I think this election would be seen as revival of Samajwadi party in national discourse. People see leader in Akhilesh Yadav and his image of mafia-raj is also wiped out . BJP have to be cautioned because almost half of the seats won are under 50000 votes margin. Even Varanashi seat winning margin is only 1.5L whereas in 2019 it was around 4 L. BSP is completely wiped out in this elections. Their core voter didn’t vote for her. but A seat won by Chandrashekhar Azad in Nagina of Bijnor district could fulfill the vaccum created by BSP leadership .
We have to see how it goes but BJP got a reality check in UP that ‘Anyone should not take UP for Granted’
